Chiedu Okonta

Chiedu Okonta is a multidisciplinary artist whose socially engaged artworks addresses systemic inequalities in society, and challenges exploitative forces around the world. A recipient of the Sir Frank Bowling Scholarship at the Royal College of Art (MA Painting, 2025), he combines his self-taught foundations with formal training to create works that archives, agitates, and questions.

Drawing on the richness of his culture, Okonta presents a counter homogeneous worldview that invites audiences to reflect on their place within humanity’s shared experience. His practice is both visually captivating and intellectually rigorous, encouraging prolonged contemplation despite the brevity of contemporary attention spans. Through symbolic forms and deliberate positioning, his work serves as a call to collective awareness and the possibility of meaningful change.
